DESCRIPTION:
The flavor profile features sweet notes of rich caramel and comforting vanilla, beautifully balanced by a subtle, fruity whisper of black cherry in the finish. The washed profile gives this coffee a cleaner profile than other Indonesian coffees that utilize the natural process methods.

GROW REGION:
The Kayumas Estate, aptly named "Golden Wood," was first established by the Dutch in the 18th century on the island of Java, Indonesia. Located in the northeast of the Bondowoso province, the estate initially cultivated coffee in low-lying areas. This practice ended abruptly in the 19th century when the devastating coffee leaf rust disease destroyed most of their production, forcing a critical relocation. As a result, new cultivation moved to the highland plateaus, where the combination of higher altitudes and volcanic soil provided the perfect, protective environment for the coffee to thrive.

HARVEST PROCESS:
The Kayumas coffee is grown in East Java, on a government-run estate where the coffee is handpicked and then processed using the fully washed method - this gives the coffee a cleaner profile than other Indonesian coffees.
